One type R 4ohm DVC

3/4 MDF
Woodglue
Sylicone caulk
drywall screws (how long?):)

Did I miss anything? :eyebrow:

3/4 MFD

MDF, not MFD

Wasn't sure if that was a typo or not :)

drywall screws (how long?):)

1 5/8" is what I use IIRC

Did I miss anything?

The tools

Other than that...not that I can think of off hand.

3/4" MDF

Woodglue

1 5/8" Coarse drywall screws

get clear Silicone (in the window department of your homedept type store) better than caulk imho

worry more about building it then covering it right now. if you have access to a brad nailer that would make it a lot easier

But a brad nailer won't help pull the wood together if his cuts are a little off.

For a first box, I would suggest sticking with screws.

it's basically a nail gun you hook to an air compressor and it shoots tiny nails. when building a box, the wood glue is strong enough to hold the enclosure together. the screws just hold the wood in place until the glue dries

Screws it its! Do the plans look ok? I did some search and that came up for 1 Type R 12" I think!

Raffi

I figuredi ts was a nail gun. Kinda like the type Remi uses in Unique Audio?

I like to use Titebond II wood glue, and the GE Premium clear silicone. That's mainly off the information I got from this board.

Just make sure you check your measurement twice. Also, if you don't have a table saw (like me) this will make your life eaiser:

make sure you pre-drill. do you have clamps or is someone gonna hold the pieces together for you? what i used to do when i used screws was get 2 drills, and then my cordless which doesn't have a lot of balls would be used for the pilot hole, then i get the electric one to drive the screws in. also you could use gorrilla glue if your cuts aren't totally accurate.

clamps + glue;)

Not everybody has big enough clamps, or the :greedy: to go buy as many as necessary.

But almost everybody has a drill and some drill bits :)

lets get all the info into one post

MDF
1" 5/8" Corse Drywall screws
GLUE: TITEBOND II OR GORILA GLUE
CLEAR SILICONE CAULK
CLAMPS IF YOU HAVE THEM 36", 24", RIGHT ANGLE AS WELL
CIRCULAR SAW
DRILL
ROUTER OR JIGSAW TO CUT YOUR MOUNTING WHOLE
SAND PAPER TO SMOOTH YOUR OVERLAPS IF CUTS ARE OFF.
MAKE SURE YOU PREDRILL ALL SCREWS BEFORE SCREWING THEM IN OTHER WISE YOU'RE LIKLEY TO SPLIT THE WOOD.
MAKE SURE ALL SCREWS ARE COUNTERSUNK ( NOT NECCESARY BUT MAKES IT LOOK GOOD WHEN U CAN FILL EM IN AND THEN SMOOTH IT OUT WITH SAND PAPER :)
OH AND MEASURE 2 TIMES AND CUT ONCE :D

no debes usar gorilla glue

it makes a physical bond, not a chemical bond.

i suggest Titebond II.
