Just thought I would share. Just got done with XM training (and won a free Airware :D ) and was advised Terk will be producing the XM Direct units for Eclipse within the next 30-45 days. Made me happy enough to dump my Sirius soon...

Indeed. Was told about 2weeks ago they'd be introducing it...

We'll see how long it actually takes tho...

XM usually comes through with things, unlike the "other" company. Ive heard in the past as well, just not from relaible sources.

I just like Sirius Rock stations better hands down. As well as their selection of sports...

XM is better as far as technology is concerned...seem to be a step ahead most of the time.

My sirius didn't even stay two months in the car. Hands down, the worst money I have ever spent in car audio. The OEM xm was far superior in sound quality.

Does that mean a SINGLE unit or two units (XM Direct unit + adapter) that they've been using with other XM capable H/U?

One of the funniest things I've ever heard.

I think the sq on sirius is pretty good(obviously better on better recordings). The sq thing seems to swing from one company to another(somebody on the sat radio newsgroup linked to a thread on an xm forum the other complaining about XM's sq).

I have sirius....love the channels, and for $13/month, it is a great deal. Some people like XM better, and some like Sirius better. Regardless of which one you choose, you should be VERY happy that the other exists. That choice drives the competition so each company works to improve.
I did a 3 day free online trial for XM. The choice was ok, but the connection kept dropping out about every 10 minutes. My Sirius connection was much better.

I personally have the chance to listen to both on an almost daily basis since I work @CC Roadshop. I think Sirius direct connect has better SQ hands down, it's not so compressed. And as stated, I like their rock stations a lot better.

XM actually uses a bit better technology behind their system. As well as more satellites that rotate With the earth, rather than figure 8s over it.

Sirius FTW IMHO.
BUT XM's products are lil nicer....

I thought getting sirius would decrease the number of CD's i bought so i got it. turns out it just inspires me to buy more CD's because im introduced to more bands and want to really hear the **** at its best (cd form).

But now im hooked on the news channels...so i cant even give up sirius :crap:

Funny but it's true for me too. Talk radio via satellite is king for me, whether it be news or sports talk.

However, music SQ is no where near the "CD-like sound quality" advertise earlier by both XM and Sirius. As a matter of fact, my OTA FM stations have more fidelity than both offerings. I've tested them both and they just sound compressed and muddy to me.

Opie and Anthony.

Some of their pieces just **** ***.

I've done countless swaps on the pioneer and sony adapters on the XMD1000 direct connects.

I personally prefer Sirius, but tomorrow I'll be adding XM to my carputer :)

XM costs a whole lot less to add then Sirius does...about 1/3 the price.

I bought some Sirius plug n plays before Christmas for $30 after rebate..not bad.

There are great deals on equipment for both companies...just gotta look for them.

I know. But I'm a little different...:)

For Sirius, I need a Sirius direct tuner...which is around $100, plus a $60 interface for my computer to hook it up.

For XM, I need a Terk XMD1000 ($50), plus a $10 cable that I have already.

:)
