Anyone watch it? I was thinkin how a riced out Skyline would hold up against an American Muscle?

Let's say 67 camaro ss vs. a skyline, Side by side, no car lengths. both get 3 stages of Nitrous, who you think would win?

These both as they came from the factory? Which SS version? 325/350/375hp? Theres alot of factors involved, including the driver.

:word: wish they would have a skyline on Pinks, prolly win the race giving the opponent 6 car lengths.

Ya, skyline would have to race a Camaro, couldn't *** with a stang hehe. By the way, we are building stang for next seasons Pinks. My boy Justain of JPC is the one who won that 85 stang in season starter. sold the car back to him after Pinks was over hehe. but a skyline is a good car, but sorry, a stock block 87-92 stang with nitrous would kill it. not to mention the skyline comes with power adder, so nitrous would be for stang only, skyline would have to stick with turbo.

04redmach1
03-05-2006, 09:06 PM
also to prove my point, Justin's car is a stock block 302 , stroked to a 331 and runs 9's on the little nitrous shot he was using that night. I have pics of out car if yall wanna see it.

ok for one, that show is a f*cking joke, its some wanna be ****** host who thinks he knows more than the jack sh*t he really does. its a lame take off of common perception of street racing, its ridiculous. the only credit i can give to the show are a couple cars i have liked and a few contestants i have noticed as knowledgable, thats It. if you've ever street raced in your life you know that show is nothing but some bs commercial hype of a tv show

and for camaro vs skyline, holy vague question first of all. if you even know what 3 stages of nitrous are (i'll give you the benefit of the doubt) but its not even funny, you're asking about a straight up drag race, hmmm gee i wonder who tends to dominate that sport. gee, huh, lets see, OH yea the rwd v8 powered muscle car. news flash people, awd is only a big traction advantage with street cars, once you actually have a fast car (very few of you seem to know what fast is) traction with awd is probably more difficult due to weight transferring characteristics and front wheel hop. learn your sh*t before talking, almost everyone here knows stereos only, very few know a **** thing else. its such a simple debate, look at some of the street classes at the track, look how many camaros are around, you say modded to the limit well sh*t son that means you do everything you can to a camaro to the point where its barely even the shell and drag race it and do the same with the skyline, psssh, yes there are fast straight line skylines but thats not their forte, the win goes to the camaro... it always has an always will

and dont argue that i'm a domestic pusher, i like both, and it just so happens i build imports, and i'm a dsm'er, so shut up unless you know how things actually are.

LMAO. Anywho, ya, V8 rear wheel drive will always dominate drag racing. Now the show isnt that bad, its pretty fun to watch. ONLY thing i dont like is the whole give me lenghts, take off nitrous...... BULLSHIT ! If you build a nitrous motor, that means its gonna run like **** without it. N/A car will have 11+ compression, nitrous will have 9 or lower, so I be **** if i take my nitrous off. that why we are building turbo car.... my luck the bastard will want us to take the ****** turbo off. RUN WHAT YOU RUN BIOTCHES !

I think the show would be alot better if they didn't have all the negotiating, and only have the best out of three rather than best of 5.
Camaros are pretty heavy. I may be wrong with half the stuff I say, but I don't really care, I am not a hardcore racing fan, just enjoy seeing people talking smack and then losing their car cuz they can't back it up.

IMO a skyline would own a camaro if it is built right and the drive knows how to drive. I think all four wheels on the ground, all pulling at the same time would have an advantage over a heavy car that lifts on takeoff and trys to spin sideways and stuff. I am not a fan of newer domestic cars, but I will give props to the older domestics, they are really nothin but muscle, but I would lean towards the skyline if I had to bet.

a fully built camaro with a fully built bigblock would hand any skyline its *** easily.

04redmach1
03-07-2006, 12:54 AM
As long as suspension is set right, you have slicks, and run through some VHT to be safe, you wont spin if you know how to drive. Skyline will ahve to worry bout those half shafts. A ford 9 inch will last longer than 4 skylines. Think about it like this, Tim Lynch on 10.5 street legal M/T et streets runs 6's and 7's easy. show me a skyline that is faster than 8's.

DubbDesigns
03-07-2006, 04:20 AM
1) '67 Camaro SS weighs less than a Skyline GT-R R34
2) A fully built big-block would not only produce more peak power, but have a wider power curve as well
3) You're wrong
Aight, prolly am wrong, but I can always dream :D
Skyline would prolly keep up pretty good tho.

If they was both stock who do you think would win?

how about traction.... 1000hp skyline redline clutchdrop FTW... well for two rookie drivers anyways... I imagine with drag slicks and I a good driver 1000hp nat aspirated will always own a turbo... guess there would have to be rules though about what you can do or I'd show up in a borrwed top fuel dragster FTW

04redmach1
03-07-2006, 11:58 PM
Stock vs. Stock, the GT-R would win ...

GT-R = high-13s
Camaro SS = mid-14s

Mind you, tires in the 60s were ****, so I'd imagine you could take at least a few tenths off the Camaro's time with modern sports tires ...

nope, Camaro SS is a low 13 sec car. If a skyline only does high 13's , i would have destroyed his @ss with my stock 04 mach 1. 12.96 hehe STOCK with 76 miles on it.

NVM, i see your still talking about older camaro haha. thats not a fair race, new car verses old. Also, what is price of skyline......

dbhittin
03-08-2006, 02:40 AM
if both are modded, skyline hands down

04redmach1
03-08-2006, 05:18 PM

New Camaro in the works...

I'd have to easily say Camaro in this drag race.

But, I'd still rather own an AWD Turbo import (not riced-out, modified properly..and no bodykits or stickers loosely attached to car) I'm just more impressed at some of the extreme HP per liter #'s that some of the factory imports are producing lately, only by replacing a few engine internals and a turbo upgrade. And the handling, traction they have for the street.

Give both cars street tires and add a little moisture to the ground, and I'll change my mind.

totally honest, ya it is going to happen. They are going to get rid of pensions and just stick with 401K's . IBM just did same thing. Saves alot of money and still helps people out in long run. Soon most major companies will be doing this. Domestic companies are hurting bad right now. the new mustang and F-150 is pulling Ford out slow, but they are still shutting plants down as well. It sux, but its life.
