okay, i am not really having any luck selling my old subs. can i just put them in a home theater set-up? i know that i would need a plate amp, but do i need a new box too? they are in a sealed box now, and if anyone wants to see the box or sub they are in my sig. they sounded good in my car, and i already have a Klipsh sub, but i kinda just want to play around. my reciever is a pioneer VSX-D514 if that matters.

and on the plate amp, where can i go to get 800 watts @ 4 ohms? i saw one at parts express but its 400 bux. i really don't want to spend that much.

edit: 800 watts is what i had in my car. would it be different at home?

For that kind of power, best to get a rackmount pro audio amp instead of a plate amp...

less then 400, preferably less than 300

You don't have to have 800 in the home...... especially if you corner load them, 350+ would do pretty well I would guess.

Probably out of your price range, but look at QSC MX3000A.

$625. Notice how tore up the amp is, yet it has heathy bidding. These are
ballsy amps and nobody cares about cosmetics.

If you place a sub in a corner..... it kind of acts like a horn and amplifies the effect of teh bass more...... kind of.
