But I'm in need of a box desing for an 04 Alpine Type X. I dont have access to a paypal account right now...so some one would be doing this out of the kindness of their heart. Moe's box plan thread doesnt have what I need, because of space restrictions. Max Demins. are 32 inches wide, 10 inches deep, and 15 inches tall. if anyone has time it would be great...Thanks.

gonna be tough(impossible? :crap: ) to fit a proper sized box with that dimension. After 3/4 all the way around, not double baffle, you're looking at an internal volume of 2.02 cubes before port volume and sub displacement.

I know...near impossible, but still trying. I might try to use areo ports...

I'd find a way to get a bigger box or get a 10. Can ya put the areoport outside of the box?

What do you need to know?

www.carstereos.com has the port length calculators

I'm guessing Alpine has tuning/size recommendations.

Is it just the size of each panel that you need help with?

alpines recommended box is like 1.1 cubes @ 27hz(right around there). Wasnt too impressed by it. Waste of time and wood imo.

alrighty well playing around with some Dimensions all weekend I came up with a new possibility...

35 inches wide
13 inches tall
14 inches deep

~3 cubes before displacement with 5/8" MDF....does anyone want to try to design a box that will fit these dimensions....low tuning is prefered somewhere inbetween 32 and 37

With those dimentions, a 12.75'' x 2'' slot port 25'' long will tune it to ~33hz.

With 3/4" mdf thats about what you'd want sealed...not ported ;). Maybe even a tad bigger :D.

the man didnt want sealed....im not a beginner at Car Audio, I sat down with this guy and fully explained to him how hard a ported box would be in his trunk, but yet he still wanted it, and I ended up designing one and im going to build it this weekend
