Car Number one- the sensible choice:
94 Lincoln Continental Sig Series 4 dr sedan
3.8 v6, FWD, New tires, sunroof, all options, air suspension Maroon w/maroon leather int 4500 from a dealer w/90k mi. Former old fogey mobile

Car number two- the less sensible chioce
93 Lincoln Mark VIII
4.6 liter DOHC 280 hp V8, sunroof, air suspension, Graphite gray, gray leather interior, straight pipes after the cat.
7000 obo (offering 5000) from private party, 70k mi. never seen snow.

Help me make a decision. I intend to do a special air suspension mod that allows the car to "drop" on the stock suspension, as well as throw in 3 12" JL audio w6's

I like the Continental better for gas mileage and for the passenger space, the Mark VIII better for speed and style.

The Mark VIII is like a Ford T-Bird and the Continental is like a Taurus.

I'd get the Mark VIII...
And it's easy to mod the struts...

I thought you modded the compressor?

What do you mean modding the struts? Basically the thing I saw 4+ years ago was a mod where you rigged 4 compressors up and you could use them to control the struts like hydraulics/airbags- then you could flip a switch and the balancing sensor would kick back in and the car would go flat again.

Yea, my bad, I was thinking wrong...
I was talking about modding the strut to go lower...

That's pretty easy, actually, as long as you are careful...
All you do is remove the bag from the strut, and take out the bumpstop inside...
I'll try to find a link for you that explains it a little better...

Well, I have two different cars I can do that to...

I need opinions. I'm a college stoodint and I drive ALOT.

I personally would go with the Mark VIII... They just look a lot better. Plus more performance.

I couldn't find the link, but it involves disassembling the bag... Then you would need someone to reseal it for you.

Anybody else have any other cars that might work... I found these two, i want comfort, decent gas mileage 20+ miles to the gallon, and class with speed as a bonus.

I have owned a Mark VIII before, it was a piece though, the air system was from hell and the tranny was bad. They tend to be garage queens, and I don't even have a garage...

I know nothing about the COntinental concerning relaibility etc.

Oh man, that sounds trick. What color? A continental with some mean exhaust and 18" rims would be just decked.

I know, I had one before I know a shitload about them but it's really just impractcal... It's so new I would spend a ton of money on maintenence and washing...

I'm actually thinking about just dropping a few hunded more dollars on my Porsche 924 and just buying a laptop computer... Payments = teh suxoor.

Like that is going to do me any good for practicality- the Porsche is a two seater and so far is the pits for reliability.

Wut chu talkin negga?

It is the NON-SUCKASS 924, it actually has a Porsche motor not the chop-jobbed forklift motor like the early 924's had.

Still, I want to trade out that outdated four banger for a Cobra 4.6 like nobody's business.

wasnt the 924 going to be the VW Sheroko(sp?) and the porsche kept it themself? or was the sherako going to be a porsche? I half remerber something about that.

its still not a real porsche cuz its not a 911 ;)

You wouldn't say that when you saw the repair bills ;)

I'm not sure about all that stuff you mean with the shirdan or waht have you, but... The cars were a joint venture of alot of different companies. THey have Mercedes, VW and other parts all in them.

Bah... 911's... The easy way to be cool. :(
