I was looking at buying an Alpine 9860. But it seems most people lean toward Eclipse or Kenwood for better decks now. I want to stay in the $300 to $550 range on a new deck. Any ideas on the best H/U's for that price range.
Thanks,

they got my vote.
I like my 8455 far, far, far better than my 8443 - not even close.

Does anyone think the cd8455 prices will drop to $325-350 once the cd5000 and cd7000 are released?

Sure cant argue with those eclipse head units they are very nice. The Kenwood excelon series at least to me are very impressive. I have one and its awsome. KDC-X789 should fit your budjet quite nicely.

The 9860 plays dvds and can control an H701 processor. The concensus from people I know that use it is that the deck itself is very cheap feeling.
If you plan on using it by itself, i suggest look elsewhere. If you plan on goin all out active with processor it'll get the job done.
