So, these are pictures from a show a company I freelanced for did...

6x CA 9 Bridged Mono 4 ohms 2000 Watts
5x CA 12 Bridged Mono 4 ohms 2800 Watts

That's a Side BTW, Meyer Sound processors and MSL-3A's and some custom subs with EVX-180B's.

Here is the PA that it was run on...
12x MSL-3A per side
7x Custom Dual Front Loaded 18" Subs (EVX-180B)

Not enough subs

LOL, it was for a country music show so the need for subs wasn't as big. but i agree, I don't like those subs at all to tell you the truth; Nor this guy's system config however the money was good so I did a few shows with this system, but the point was to show the amps and how many speakers you can run with them lol....

I know someone who has more Crest Amps than Thy....

:toast:

I have 30,000 Crest watts, I only see 26,000w there :p:
[I only have 64,000 Crest + QSC watts in home : ]

That amp rack in home would be sweet nonetheless. It's hard for my home
stereo to compete with a concert rig but I'd do the challenge anyways for fun
... setup an Ozzfest at my house :)

I think I have a great audiophile on SPL steriods line array design, very
high SQL for 'real estate area'.

I don't want to sound like a party pooper, but I did look into Crest CA
series amplifiers as shown in the pics. I wasn't impressed by the circuit design
over the Pro series. The Pro 9001 and 10001 look sweet, everything else
looks ordinary :) [nothing wrong with ordinary  ]

For example;
The schematic I have shows CA9 and CA6, both of these amps share the
same output stage. Only 4 transistor per voltage rail. Oddly, the schematic
says the power supply is for CA6, CA9, CA12... ???

Anways, the CA12 is rated for 2800w mono, CA9 rated for 2000w mono
so I suspect the output stage on CA12 isn't much bigger than CA9.
I'd like to see CA12 and CA18 schematics, it's not on their website. [booo]..

The output stage design just gives me a quick snapshot of what the amp might
be able to do or not do and it tells me about how well the amp was over-engineered,
sorta meaningless as it's application dependent too.

Those EVX180's.. I used them in 1987... Then they sat in storage until this year with
rotted foam surrounds.. I tossed the woofers in the garbage -- hehehe

I'll see if I can get some pics from the company I work for of their former Meyer rig, you might like those... M3D 145 db at 1 meter...

26kW per side n00bx ;)...

Therefore 52kW total :)

Aka, 520w per driver.

****.

I don't have 520W in my home setup, even if you count the plate amp for my subwoofer that's 250W

Impressive stuff, to say the least.

Tubes wont drive that much lol.....

Nobody asked to hear from the Tube Fairies.

Tubes wont drive that much lol.....

I'd be scared to even imagine the power transformers required to provide enough plate current for something like that...think power plant scale.

Either enough electricity to light New York, or audio...hmm

http://www.oldradio.com/archives/stations/cinc/wlwpix.htm <--- when tube technology goes Thy-style :D

LOL, not really, you should see the amp racks and speakers from the 80's manifold speaker systems lol....

System of MSL-4's and MSL-3's from early 90's sometime, 8x 650R-2 per side side....

Per side side?

Interesting.

That's right:
Per Side
12x Meyer MSL-3A = 24 Total
18x Meyer MSL-4 = 36 Total
8x Meyer 650-R2 = 16 Total
