What is the difference between these two in dash video units? Why is the pioneer premier one cheaper than the pioneer one? They looked pretty much the same to me.

Because the AVX-P8 is only a DVD player/flip out and the 5700 is an actual H/U / DVD player/ flip out
They arent even close to being the same thing

Ohhh wow duh heh.. Question: Can you hook up your ipod interface to the 5700 and also hook up a ps2 directly to the unit at the same time?

Well, i just found out that the 5700 does not play DVD's. Only the 7600 does
However, it has 1 IP BUS imput. If you buy the optional Multi channel processor you get 2 IP BUS imputs.
1 for the ipod and one for the PS2

The Pioneer Premier has every option except a pre-amp (you can use pretty much any other Pioneer deck with it and it would be awesome)

The Premier has got 24bit processing too ;)

that is false, i have the pioneer 5700, and it does play dvd's. it also has the i pod connection, you can also connect the ps2 directly to it, and there is input's for everything else (navigation, sat. radio, rear camera, etc.......)
