Does anyone know if the Alpine CDA-9805 plays wma's or mp3's? I searched on google for those sites where ppl review products and studd like epinions.com and stuff... and some websites said it did, and others didnt say wether or not it did... so i was wondering if anyone has experience with this head unit?

From what I could find in the manual (on Alpine's site - :search: ing is your friend) the 9805 will not decode .mp3 files. It would need to be the head unit that was the first step up from that, the CDA-9807 for .mp3 playback. :)

Edit: Direct quote from the owner's/installation manual for the CDA-9805 / CDA-9807:

MP3 playback is possible with the CDA-9805 if an MP3-compatible disc changer is connected.

It won't do it by itself, however.

okay. I tried searching on alpine's site for "cda-9805"and it would tell me "no results"...yeah the headunit is nearly 2.5 years old... so i figured thats why they didnt have any info on it.

For older stuff off of their home page you'll click on:

Support-->Alpine Tech Center-->Continue Without Login (this will be found under where it wants you to enter a username and password) and viola! it'll bring you to where you want to be. :)
