New SQ HU : Kenwood 25th or Eclipse 8445 ?

the eclipse does not have a detachable face plate. thats why i switched to the kenwood. i was in the same boat. Well, listen to systems with one deck and then the other. I felt that the eclipse had more of an "sq" edge but the kenwood was just a tad behind imo.

why do you need detachable face? if you buy authorize doesn't eclipse garuntee your deck won't get stolen? i would never trade my eclipse for any other brand of deck. maybe an RF 8250 but that would be it :)

I've heard some guys using half of a face case over their Eclipse's as a getto theft deterrant. Put it this way, if they want your deck they will get it....and Eclipse decks are useless with the ESN activated. But hey, do what you gotta do I guess.

yes, i think its a good choice....

the x889 its other option -130 bucks vs 25th

the differences :

4 DA 24 Bits for 25th and 2 DA 24bits for x889 (if u listen mp3 or encoded music this difference its bullshi.t)


the clarion 855 looks great too, but i think..... "all show, no go"

if you absolutely need a new HU now, and need it to be a detachable face then get the kenwood but if you wait til end of feb/ early march, the new eclipse HUs are detachable. up to you, but if you end up buying the 8445 (which i would recommend) then make sure you buy it authorized because it comes with a 3 year warranty and a 1 year theft warranty.

msrp for the new eclipse HUs should be on par with the 2005 line.

clarion isn't a bad choice. i loved my DXZ745 but loved my eclipse even more. imo i would take a clarion, alpine, pioneer, panasonic, or eclipse before a kenwood
