View Full Version : HELP!! Cd stuck in kenwood headunit!!

I have a kdc mp628 and the cd is stuck in the head unit?? any way I can get it out??:mad:

Did the eject mechanism quit operating?

First try resetting the unit and see if that works.

Barring that you may have to get a pair of tweezers or hemostats or something to drag it out of there or take the top off of the unit to get at it :(

Sorry to hear you're having troubles with a Kenwood :crap:

not to ask a stupid question but is there any other way of resting the head unit besides unhooking the battery??

Yeah this is the first kenwood I have ever had problems with....:(

Depending on how easy it is to get to, unplug the harness on the back of the HU.

well it is in a cavalier(04) so I dont think it is easy to get to... but then I am also not a stereo guru LOL!!!:crazy: thanks for the help guys!!!!!

My Kenwood is slow at ejecting and taking cd's, compared to all my other Pioneers I had, is this normal?

Okay - using a straight pin or the tip of an ink pen or something small to get in there hit the reset button as illustrated here:

well I got the cd out... had to use tweezers....... seemed the cd was warped just a lil bit now when I look at it. but the cd player and everything else is working fine. Thanks guys!!

also I was wrong... she has an 828

Yup - mobile CD players tend to take a much narrower view of warped discs than do home units....
