might as well go 3 way active frontstage if you arent usin a sub, then get like a pioneer 860mp or something and call it a day

I don't remember the S2000 doors all that well but I personally wouldn't want and try and cut them to fit a 4" midrange driver. How much thump do you want? You might consider adding a single 10 in the trunk, thats what I put in for a customer a while ago and it sounded quite nice with some 6 1/2 comps in the front.
What are you doing about a deck? Have you decided to sacrifice the dash controls and change out the stock or are you going to use a LOC?

iirc you can use the peripheral swalp and integrate with the factory stereo controls by the start button, and this is not an infrared repeator, it plugs directly into the back of the deck. i believe a 9847 or anything above that will work with it, but not 100% off the top of my head.

any good component set should be able to knock out some low end. boston pro or Z6 do very well, the jl audio XR or ZR do very well. if you're on a budget, i had a set of VR's a loong time ago that did very well with about 120 watts per channel.

just because you have 100 watts per channel doesn't mean you will use all of it. it's good to have more power than you need. nothing like having plenty of headroom.

what do you guys think of the boston pro60? Oh yeah what amp do you recommend pushing these as well? I have a jl 300/2 but isnt it for subs, or should I sell it and just get something else like.....what?

a 300/2 is an awesome mid/high amp. it not at all designed to drive subwoofers. the pro60's would do very, very well off a 300/2. i've done a couple s2000's with that exact setup, and they sound awesome. really no need for a sub to be honest. sound great, and get PLENTY loud when you have the top down :)

if it were me i'd get a good component set and also get a couple Tang Band 6.5s or 8in in a small box in the trunk. Should give you good midbass and a little of the low sub but nothing special but should sound good.

ahhhh good choice with the rainbow's they have the best midbass i have heard, way better than the overated utopias, another good choice would be some dyn's or the phd's are excellent! almost forgot the rainbows have a kickbass upgrade for a lil bit more grunt!

xfatass, what headunit do you have?

I recently did an install in my friend's s2000 consisting of Seas Lotus Performance midrange and Seas Lotus Reference tweeters. The midbass output was great, even though the doors weren't dampened yet.

If you're looking for bass out of mids, then you're asking for too much. Nothing can really give you that bass of a subwoofer in an IB mounted midrange driver.

Whats the spec on the tang bang, seas lotus and have a link to their site?? Not looking for a sub right now tho. I kno no comps can sound like a sub but I had a stock mb c240(stock hu and speakers) that had a really good thump to it with out anything done to it and that is what I want to accomplish with my honda s2000. Oh and where did you mount the 300/2 in the trunk?? Got pix??

tang bands can be found on parts express. Also on here under a group buy, i've posted specs for all the woofers that are on the group buy.

I found some boston pro60 for 300 shipped used(7 months) and it has the baffle made for my car. Do you guys think its a good deal?? Comes with all parts and box. But on ebay they go new for about 340 but with no baffle. And if I decide to get them new and have to get it custom made baffles at the audio store will it be a lot?? So what do yall think?? New or used with baffles? Or go with another brand?

how about some DLS MS6's :)

I would do dls up6's- they drop right into Honda doors with no clearance issues (small magnet) and have awesome midbass. Reasonably priced too (~$300) I love mine and almost don't need a sub......almost.

iirc we put the 300/2 either under the drivers seat, or right behind it. i believe it is under it though... i always have preferred stealth installs, especially in convertables. there also should be a lot of room in the trunk, if you remove the carpeted panel under where the top folds down to to hide an amp. don't recall off the top of my head if it's big enough to hide a 300/2 but i've put alpine amps under there before with no ill side effects. if it can't be seen, it's a helluva lot harder to steal ;) and sorry, no pics. i do way too many installs to take pictures of them. i just take pics of the major installs like the murcielago and fun stuff like those :)

there's a few pictures anyways. for some reason, a lot of them came out blurry on the yahoo thing. i have the hi-res somewhere on my computer. pics to come are the new saleen, a couple other mustangs, a couple ram's, and a buncha other crap. unfortunately i didn't even think to take pictures of the ferrari, or a couple other very nice cars.

i'd pass on those. infinity's tend to be way harsh, and lacking inthe midbass region, and they won't take the power you have to give them.

I think you'd be happy with all the brands mentioned so far as they are all well made speakers (- Infinity). Do yourself a huge favor and spend a good week or two listening to as many comp sets as you can before you fork over the $$$. I have heard many ok systems, but not to many really great ones and what it utimately came down to was the instal, not really the equipment.

That being said, realize that if you go the Boston route, you will need some pretty good power to really bring out their potential....and they are 3 ohms so a 200x2 @ 4 amp will yield ~265 watts per side...and at that they would still be hungary:)

If you just want say screw it, then buy the Seas Lotus Reference set at www.mobliesq.com (http://www.mobliesq.com) so I can live vicariously through you:D

Check Car Audio and Electronics Magazine I believe that they reviewed the new QSC's...also check www.mbquart.com
