ok, well i have an old amp that does 25x4 at 4ohm load and 35x4@2ohm

is it ok to run my in-car speakers at 2ohm and what are the advantages/disadvantages??

Do I lose SQ much?
And if i think about it.. do i lose stereo and fall like mono or something because i read that in the FAQ..thx

thank you

Your speakers will run at 4 ohm.

If your speakers are 4 ohm, your amp will see the 4 ohm load and power accordingly.

Are you running your headunit at 2ohms, if so it will probably run hot.

Yes, but I CAN run my speakers at 2ohm load if i want to buy wiring them in parallel.

And my HU will not power anything, all power is off my amp..thx

But what does it change to run at 2ohm instead of 4ohm on 4x6.5" speakers?
Does it change anything in the sound?
Is it worth it to gain the extra 20 watts RMS/ch??

Total harmonic distortion (THD) levels increase when an amp is run at a lower impedance's but these levels are usually still within the inaudible range unless the amp is of terrible quality.

Are you considering disconnecting the two rear speakers and wiring them in parralel off the front channel, if so no. It is not worth it.
