Various members on the forum. Horns from squeak9798, and one set of mids was from dbfan187. Forgot who the second set was from, sorry if youre reading this :crap:

Does tend too look that way. Also some freakin ridiculously heavy doors, and no room for tall peoples knees :( :)

The horns are actaully not that tall. Only about 2 in. of legroom under the dash is lost. Of course if I decide I dont have enough room when theyre installed, the dash is gonna get a lil reconstructive surgery :D

I hope you do have room. I used to have a set of CH-1's too (also bought from Brad :p: ), and had to sell them because I couldn't make room for them. :(

Are you using a set of the XXX's as midrange then and the other as midbass?

I was thinking about the extremis, but figured it wouldnt make too much of a difference since these are pretty much only gonna be playing 1khz and under. Besides I kept getting good deals on em. Either way Im sure I'll be satisfied

edit: btw which drivers would you have recommended anyways?

stick with the xxx's (remember that they are power hungry)

horns are going to play 1khz and above....the XXX lacks midrange, but the midbass is definitely there

I have owned the RE XXX mids and currently own the CH-1 Drivers

you will be happy :)

Oh no need to worry about power, I'm putting em in sealed pods and puttting an Orion8004 on em :naughty:

heck if you have that kind of room i would get another set of higher output mids use one pair of xxx (just as mid bass nothing more) and maybe cross over the horns slightly higher (1-1.2k). that way you know you have your basses covered.

Sort of, but not really.

Horns are much larger, can typically play much lower and have much greater output than tweeters.

Only similarity tweeters and horns have is that they are both designed to cover the upper octaves.

Check out the galleries and tutorials on both pages.

where do they go?

Typically under the dash

and how big are they?

Big big. Full size horns are probably 9"+ deep, 2" or so high at the mouth, >12" wide, and the compression driver usually has a large diameter (3" and up)

I tell you what, this driver looks pretty interesting for use as a midbass with horns: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/pshowdetl.cfm?&DID=7&Partnumber=294-679&ctab=2#Tabs

Good excursion (8mm Xmax), 96db @ 1w/1m, low inductance, flat response out past 1khz on the high side. Starts some low-end rolloff at ~150hz, but with cabin gain and a little EQ/enclosure work, you could probably get that down to ~60hz.

This one aswell: http://www.bcspeakers.com/index.php?sez=1&categoria=2&id_descrizione=44&prodotto=54&id_descrizione_prod=24

Man I need horns again :( :bawling:

I like the LFE on my extrmii... not that it's going to matter once I get my subs in... or after I port them at 63 hz
