so far ?

Im going to order it as soon as i get some confirmation that it is going to sound good, and that it will all work. I have a 2001 Taurus SE w/ the 4 6x8 speaker locations

Im going to be using this mid/high setup along with an RE XXX 12" in a box built to the specs on the RE site off of an Orion 2500d @ 1ohm. Just trying to confirm that all of these will be able to keep up w/ it, and that it should all fit and work correctly together ? (i went over the specs like 1,000 times) the speakers are 4 ohms and the amp puts out 100 watts x4 into 4 ohms so that should be enough considering the speaker ratings ?

2 Pairs of these:

Rockford Fosgate P1682S x 2: 150.00 a pair

Components or 2-way 6x8
60 watts RMS
120 watts Peak
90 Day SE Warranty

http://sonicelectronix.com/item_2482.html

And one of these to power them:

Orion 8004: 290.00

100 watts x 4 chan. @ 4 Ohms
200 watts x 4 chan. @ 2 Ohms
1 Year SE Warranty

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_719.html

also if anybody has any opinions on a better set of components to check out that may be higher quality (can be more expensive but nothing ridiculous) i would love to hear some ideas and suggestions regarding this setup

Get some 5.25s, or some 6's, and get some mounthing adapters for them. Oval speakers just dont sound as good. Atleast to me they dont.

i figured if i had the gain down i could run it seeing as how the xxx is rated at 2600 max, no ? well if anything i could opt for a diff. VC setup and run it into 2 ohms for 1700

but i was told that it would be better to get the 2 ohm DVC setup

and that i should be able to overpower the sub somewhat if i ran lower gain ... this is my first system so i dont really know :)

i was going to order an adapter for 5.25 or 6 inch comps but i read in quite a few places that the universal adapter sound like ****, and i dont really feel like cutting anything

it looks like the group buy has MT available and i assume they handle more power but they dont have a warranty sooooooo

but they are also cheaper so i might just cop one

i have a 2003 ford taurus SE. my system sounds pretty good in it. be carefull when building your box, you may have to assemble it in the trunk. i was almost certain mine would fit but because of how the tailights were shaped on the lip of the trunk it didnt fit. PM me if you have any issues with anything, we can tackle them together if you'd like. Good luck.

ya max watts mean nothing, and yes 2500 is a lot, try like 1,200 to 1,600 watts

are you happy with what you want?I read that about 6.3 times and it still makes no sense to me

:crap:

ya max watts mean nothing, and yes 2500 is a lot, try like 1,200 to 1,600 wattsdoes this mean i would have to buy the Quad 2 ohm VC setup on the XXX in order to run it into 2 ohms w/ the 2500d ???

my head is spinning

Dro

there is dual and quad .7 & 1.4 is avail for the MT

this is making things way too complicated ... at what specs would the 2500d be pushing the MT w/ if i bought an MT ... maybe i should buy something simpler :(

the 2500d is only stable down to 1 ohm anyway according to specs, i read after searching here something about a lower rating possible w/ modding ??? what does that mean

lmao im such a n00b

i really appreciate the help though you guys are great

aND FAST TOO

it looks like the MT is actually available in Dual 1 2 or 4 so i might just end up calling RE tomorrow and asking a million questions so i can order my 15" MT (maybe!) before the GB is up

Dro
12-28-2005, 12:37 AM
i would just buy it but i need more specs so i can build the rest of my system around it plus seeing as how there is no warranty i would prefer to buy directly from RE

but thanks for letting me know ill prolly talk to him if i decide to go w/ it

that is a 75 dollar discount :D

Dro
