I just got my 2 zapco 9.0 amps and 2 JLAudio W7 and would like to know what horns or componets would work best with these speakers. I don't want the bass to drown out the highs or mids. So any help would work.

Thanks all

reg speakers id go beyma, horns id probably lean more down the likes of a cd1 pro. they are more forgiving during install and setting up. easier to match a mid up with too in most reguards. if you do want to go full blown cd2's arent bad just a little more in depth tuning and driver choices will probably be needed. just depends on how serious you want to make it.

Well I want my system to sound great to any music I play. I like Rap, my girl Likes Alicia Keys, My dad likes old school. So as long as the horns and mid-bass can sound great to all types of instrumental music then it is all good.

Horns are beasts man, they are really meant to be loud, give about 50w each and dont worry about not ehring the msuic

what midbass could compliment 109dB efficieny? the ID horns go down to 600hz dont they?

Not many, without having to choke down the horns a lot. 8" - 10" is the way to go when matching a mid with them.

Only on a very steep slope, and you won't want to listen to them at extremely loud volumes.

A more realistic range would be 800-1khz.

Budget?

the guy has two 9.0's. are you going to use one on the highs and one on the w7's?

I really dont know. I am kinda new at this my first system was 4 Solo Barics straped to 2 Rockford Fosgate 1001BD's. I am now steping into a hole new sound system and want the cleanest, clearest, loudest sound system that I can get out of this equipment. I am willing to listen to any advise from you guys.

I really appreciate you help.

what is the other 9.0 for? i would run two sets of components up front, and also invest in a good EQ. where are you in cali?

I am in the bay area. I am using the 2 Zapcos for both JL Audio W7's 13.5. Why you think they both can run off one? I thought I would get more out of them with both.

you will probably get more out of them with both, but it is overkill, way overkill. what amp are you using on your highs/mids. i would go with a 6.0 if you are doing 2 channel.

horns do get very loud (especially with 40 wrms)

I have an Audiocontrol EQL on mines and the gains set low

my Seas ca18rnx mids are only getting 40 wrms @ 8 ohms and after much tuning, they barely keep up

Well I wanted to run a set of high and mids for the from and back. So can I do that off a two channel? or should I go with a 4 channel?

horns and mids in the front and back? horns get loud enough to not even worry about rear fill even if you had a school bus lol

So should I put anything in the rear? Mids or anything that the rear passangers can hear? Besides bass lol

MAYBE just the midwoofer. but putting any highs in the back will mess with the soundstage. but 1 set in the front should be all you need though.

Cool, What Midwoofers would you guys use? Would you run the front highs and mids and rear mids off a 2 channel amp? or go 4? thanks for your help guys

i wouldnt run rears with horns at all. unless you had cd-1e horns with the x overs you would need 4 channels of amplifiers to power 2 mid/midbass and 2 horns in an active crossover set up
