is it a 12 or a 15? do you know fiber glass? is the spare in the hatch? do you need to keep it? answer these and more info my become avaliable

ok, so i just read your sig. and you have a 12. answer the rest and i will see what i can do.

I like 2.5 cubes tuned to 28 hz... sounds really good down low. I'd look into learning how to glass if I were you...

i have the 12.....everything is free of space..no spare...nothing.....2.5 at 28 sounds nice to me as well, if it's possible

ill be getting pics here in a bit, maybe you guys can "eye" it and see what i can do, i have no experience at all with fiberglass or anything

Plenty of space in the Maro for that. Build in the well out and fire forward or up. It will slam.

Here's a shot of my buddy's car. That's a 15" Magnum in 2.3 cubes sealed and it tears the car apart. Should have similar results with the vented 12".

That looks awesome.......i'm not sure if my box building skills will let me do that though

12-24-2005, 02:08 PM
YOu should have enough room in the well to construct it purely from wood. If I remember correctly, using 3/4" material, I was able to get exactly 1 cube just from the well to the top where the sides start to form the "U" shape.

12-24-2005, 06:21 PM
wait...one cube??i'm looking for over twice that..after vent and sub disp

listen to what tire fire has to say, he is a rep for SI

12-24-2005, 11:03 PM
hes saying from the TOP of the well, not the whole deal. you SHOULD be able to fit atleast 3 cubes..... and your only wanting 2.5 (im speaking after displacement) if you can take a picture of the box, i can surely get you atleast a slant face box to build. so it sorta forms to your car instead of firing straight up. did anyone eve mention how easy camaros are to get loud?

12-25-2005, 12:12 AM
I'm sure it would get loud pretty **** easy with that hatch back

Here are a few more pics..let me know what you think of just the car alone or what i could do audio wise.

you could always go pre-made:

edit: that box has a 7.5" mounting depth. i'm not sure what a mag's depth is. might wanna check.

12-26-2005, 11:26 AM
meh, i dont really wanna go with any prefab boxes

12-26-2005, 10:36 PM
with acustom box, your mounting dept is almost unlimited. like i said, plans can be made by me if you would like, but id rather see u get it formed to match your panels, if thats not a necessary deal for you, id be glad to help.

proboxrocks.com does make a great box for the camaro, you could at least use a prefab for the bottom, and build your own face, if you still want a custom look/mounting depth.

i had a box by subthump.com sounded mint with 2 jl 12s god i miss my camaro:crap:

Well, i figured out that maybe just a round port would work much better. The only problem is the depth. In my camaro i measured out that 11" was about as deep as i could go, as if the sub was facing up. Well this would be the side where i would mount the sub, which alone is 12. Do any of you guys who have boxes in camaro's have a mounting depth of 14 or more? Because 14 is about the smallest i could make and still fit the sub in there. I can go around 26wide and 22 tall but the depth is what was concerning me.

subthump.com boxes are extrmeely nice and the guy will do a custom box for you
