im about to build a new box for my L7s in my tahoe and i was wondering whether i should aim them up towards the roof, or back towards the tailgate and what the difference would be between the two... also, what frequency should i tune the box to get a good combination of deep bass and spl... 35 htz maybe? thanks in advance...

From what i've seen on this forum as far as an suv i've seen a mixture of both face up and back.IMO i would face up and port back. It's really up to you.Hope i could help and also i would would for some more resposes before you make you decision.

Just build the box (sub and port on same side) and them aim it one way, see how you like it, then aim it the other way and see which is better. And I've built a box for a 15L7 @35Hz, and it lacked a little more lowend than I'd like. I'd go with at least 32Hz :)

Bass is non directional.... aiming doesnt matter with subwoofers ;p

my boy had a tahoe with a mtx 9500 in it...it was louder with the sub facing the rear. However; if you dont have any sound deadening and your system is gonna be wangin hard if you face the subs upwards you wont get as much vibration noise well atleast not on the rear hatch so it will in turn sound better IMO
