I was going to put in a sealed box with polyfill for my 2 infinity kappa perfect 12.1d's but i have since found someone to fiberglass it for almost the same price.......Are there any benefits to fiberglassing besides asthetics.

Which one would get the most SPL and which one has the best SQ

being that all things are equal as far as airspace, and that both boxes are built strong and sealed well, there would be no difference.

if i had a dollar for everytime someone said, "i heard fiberglass boxes will not sound as good as mdf" i would be a very rich man.

You have to be carefull when you add Poly-fill to a box, Too much and it has the opposite effect, too little and it does nothing.

Why would you have to stuff the fiberglass box with polyfill ??

because i dont think that there is enough volume.......and since polyfill somewhat tricks the sub into thinking its is in a bigger box.

Lol.

The fiberglassed enclosure is most likely to be larger in airspace than the MDF counterpart.

i know that but since the vehicle that im in has such little cab room i still dont think that it may be enough room.
