I saw these speakers in playboy's gift section for december (see i really do read the articles;))

I thought it was pretty interesting. Check out the weight on these suckers! not to mention the price!

would be a good match for those speakers.

it would only set you back more than some people make in their entire working life. (some really poor people)

That amp would actually be an awful choice, as it's push pull and way overpowered :)

Those speakers are crazily overpriced, but a DIY version wouldn't be too bad if you could get the horn flares designed for you...the math could get hellish. Fabrication would involve fiberglassing the horns, but it's certainly doable.

Would probably just be easier to build horns out of plywood, though.

Here's an interesting question, what is the maximum quality that the human ear can hear? Meaning, can your ear hear the extra performance in those or is it just heard by a RTA and a mic? Plus anyone that knows anything about round parabolic horns like those knows that you have alot of distorion that has to be conpinsated for in the driver adding speaker COLORATION, which takes away from that natural realistic sound. It may give you a -1dB range from 20-35k, but is that really what you want in the first place? Just get B&W Natulists if you have that much bloody money!!!
