hey guys, i have a question. I've got this box.. its like 3.2 at 37 hertz, but on the cutout on the front baffle there is a gouge at the bottom. Is there anything i can do to fix it? the rest of the baffle is fine, its just that one part is messed up.

leave it alone and place another baffle on top of it, glue it down, and recarpet.

when you glue, use like 1 inch drywall screws, wood glue the whole bare wood to bare wood, cut yourself a new hole where the existing hole was, and you have a stronger box now than you did before.

IDK about that, if you do that, your displacement of your sub will be different, which changes everything about your box

not enough to make any practical difference.

:word: Don't think it'll make much of a diff.

Or you could just rout out the size of the sub and make a flushmount.

you're thinking about it backwards

and if it's change displacement of sub by .2, or scrap box, or destroy box trying to get baffle off..

i'd change displacement by .2

i guess i should have said that is double baffled already.... could i just remove the front baffle, and remake it? would that hurt anything structurally since the other 5 holes would be going through 2 baffes and the bottom one only going through one hole? or maybe i could just take off both front baffles and put 2 new ones on

if they aren't super glued down already like they should be, then you should take em off if you can.

RE HC = what on the new lineup?

like i said, there will be a difference. I didnt say it would be a huge difference or anything, i was just letting him know that there would be some sort of a difference

an hc was replaced by the sx, and then the hc was discontinued, but imo the hc looks better. here is a link to a hc which looks just like mine, but is not mine. This is the gallery of jemorgan85, which is who i bought from http://gallery.caraudio.com/vg/showimage.php?i=3493&catid=member&imageuser=5931

its too cold here.. and it gets dark by the time i get home from school,my electrical system isnt finished yet, my dads really picky about his garage. I dont know if i can even take the baffles off because the box is internally fiberglass resined. i may take new pics if my dad has his digi cam and show you what im talking about
