Well I have a bunch of pics from when I modified my center counsol to house an eclipse pre amp. This counsol is complete now so here are the pics of how it came togather. This is for a 1994 ford explorer sport.
Here is a pic of my counsol stock.
http://img476.imageshack.us/img476/5979/s20103942bd.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
Here I have a piece of quarter inch plywood that has the opening cut out for the pre amp.
http://img476.imageshack.us/img476/1817/s20103952fg.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
In thes pic I cut the bottom off of the counsol and re atached it lower with pieces of wood . I did this so that the deph of the pre amp would sit inside this part of the counsol. Also I figured that this piece when finished would look like it belonged in the vehical.

and one more pic of the bracing I did to this piece , so It would not collapse when I streached spandex over it. I used hot glue to anchor all of the wooden braces.

Ok ready for the spandex?

this is the seccond layer.
http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/9691/s20104037ui.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
also I would have been better off if I had used the fiberglass matt instead if the heavy cloth I did use . The stuff I used is for building airplane wings. It came from Cirrus Design. Here it is after some sanding.

getting a 15" MKII from a friend couldnt really find anything about size and tuning for a ported box for it. Site only talks about sealed :( was considering 3.5-4cubes tuned to the low 30s

Im running a ported fiberglass box now with my memphis subs. loud as hell too.

I was shown a product guide for the MKII where they recommend 3cubes tuned to 28hz for Sq and 4 cubes tuned to 35Hz for SPL so I think I will split it and do 3.5 tuned to 32hz should be a pretty good SQL box I think

fleece/cotton are fine, they're just not as stretchy.

Nice all around. Very nice amps too.

I havent cause I dont have the sub yet. Im buying ghostfaces from him and he has it sealed. he says you feel the bass in your chest but its not as loud as his 2 12" SEs ported were.

Just a layer or two to add some strength. It doesn't need to be bullet proof. But you don't want it to crush if somebody accidentally kicks it or something while getting in the car. Fleece, spande, grill cloth, and the like are still pretty brittle without reinforcement. :)

Very ****!!

So tell us about the paint process.....what u do? How did you do? and setup? Thanks Man .With the paint and finishing , It was alot of bondo and sanding . It seemed like an endless proscess before I got this part to the point where it could be painted. For the paint I gave it to the people who painted my Explorer so the color was matched to the body. They did some sanding and touch ups to this part as well. I knew if I had The body shop paint this part that it would turn out awesome. Btw it was painted base clear ford white. They only charged me 20.00 to shoot it;) . I highly reccomend doing this it sure beats a foo foo can special.
Sometime in the near future I plan to build a sealed fiberglass box for the brahma and have it painted in the same manner.:D
