why do cables that supposedly fight the earth's magnetic field cost much more than lamp cable even though they do the same thing regardless of the 5k price difference ;)

money does not equate into quality.

ballstothewall

I ment that in reference to lemans23's statement "money does not equate into quality."
Sorry, my bad, i realize that can be taken either way....I don't really like bose.

Lol that TR web site is hilarious! They got their "FBAA" cirtificate on there lol.

..and those "digitaly designed crossover circuits" sound very fancy.

I was under the impression that theatre research was good, but the theatre research knockoffs were sold in vans..

Ever really watch a Bose infomercial?

Well, I was bored last night around 3AM, and I did...

I consider it false advertising because they trumpet around the Wave Radio like it was something really new or improved...when in fact it's nothing but a mediocre-to-average broadcast band tuner stuck in a well-engineered TL. Which Bose didn't invent :)

i am for bose's design abilities, against their marketing. the two in one or wte surround pack is the oldest trick in the book. this NEW technology that "digitally" bounces sound off the walls to create the illusion of surround.

"Only by Bose"

bullshit

exactly, too bad they use drivers that are way to small. you'll notice ameture audiophiles with money to burn that don't know any better beat off to bose while the tru educated audiophiles, **** on it :)

Oh, infomercials are a different story :p:

You can't put it past them to use anything to make that sale. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if they claimed that Bose invented the modern transducer.

OK i have no problem admittting i am a home audio noob, and i also have no problem admitting that when i heard a bose lifestyle system demo in a BOSE store awhile bak, i was very impressed with the room filling sound and how small the speakers were...now i see taht NO ONE on here thinks it sounds good...sigh...i have alot to learn...what kinda of home audio speakers do you guys use that are soo much better than bose? and if anyone lives in the south texas area lemme kno so i can come be blown away by the awesome sound

Beat_Dominator

I think they sound pretty nice, everyone around here is just pissed at the gay prices they charge...and get for them.

Beat_Dominator

On a side note, if you can get yourself to a good HiFi shop and demo a $40k + setup it WILL enlighten you.

Back in '96 or so I had the pleasure of listening to a pair of B&W 801's powered by McIntosh monoblocks and I learned then that there were amazing possibilities in audio reproduction, much more than I ever could have guessed.

PV Audio

they are too $$ for what you get

jaygeorge1979
10-28-2005, 08:24 PM
i can only imagine what a $40 dollar demo would sound like...i can definately say that the best sound quality i ever heard was the bose demo...that is only because i havent heard many setups...how much would bose have to charge for you to consider them a good buy?

PV Audio

1/2 is reasonable
