These were in my friends basement for years and we thought that they were just tables, and one day his uncle said that they are subwoofers. They have a lot of bass with the right amount of bass, too much like 100 even though it is in its RMS range they start to pop and not enough you dont even here it. and the size is 15"

maybe the thing has just rotted out sitting down in the dank basement so long. old speakers did not have the new technologies to protect against that kinda crap- maybe swap the sub out for somthing else? make sure of the impedance tho - dont wanna be blowing **** up :)

the sub is very flimbsy so if I can find another 15" I would replace it. They are 4 ohms.

I hooked up the sub to my JVC 2 channel receiver with just 1 of the channels and it sounds decent it can get a little loud but it will bottom out very easly. I only hooked it up to 1 channel because 2 channels would give it like 200 watts and that is its peak wattage and it sounds ******. What replacement 15" would you reccomend that can be wired up to 8 ohms and is no more then $50.
