I own a 1971 chevelle and want to put in some components. Let me first tell you about the sub woofer setup I have I have (3) JL Audio 13.5 W7 powered by (3) Zapco 9.0 Amps and now I am looking for components. There are a few brands I am looking at which are Boston Acoustics Z6 series, CDT Audio (but kinda expensive) Arch Audio, Diamond Audio, Focal, Please let me know what you guys recommend?

I just installed my dynaudio 240's. Initial impressions are very solid.

I love the Dls UP6's I just got, they whoop *** on the diamond hexes they replaced. I wrote a product review on them on this forum. Fantastic midbass, smooth tweeter, fantastic imaging. The ****=Dls speakers. You can get them for around $350.

PM or IM DjDillioDon for great prices on CDT, he's an authorized dealer, so you still get the 3 year warranty.

I'm a big fan of Seas Lotus, and the Z6 set I used was quite nice. Kicker SS speakers are surprisingly good as well.

Looks like I need to compare my sets against these... ? :eyebrow: thats scary though -- My sets own the Hex... and those sets own the Hex... could be an interesting fight between the comp sets... ?

Didn't see MBQ Q's or Focal Utopia on the list so I might as well throw those in....a lot of the value of high end comps is in the installation and tuning....but hey, like my old man used to say, whatever you can afford!!!!

I'd be interested to read a comparo between yours and some Dls UP6's. Yours would have to be freeking amazing to be better IMO.

I'd like to hear iridiums for myself, though I just don't think they would be a good fit for me (that paper woofer scares me in a door in the Pacific Northwest!)

An expensive question to answer, hey, send me your iridiums, I'll put them in my car and report back to you if/when they fall apart.

I'm currently using Canton QS 2.16, much better in midrange clarity, tweeter smoothness, detail and midbass compared to the Focal 165V2's and Alpine SPX-177A's I had before. Superb speakers around the $400 - $500 range.
