Well i have $250-$300 to spend on a new deck, or more if needed. I want something nice and flashy with good animations and etc. I also want an input so I can plug in an MP3 player or my laptop. Need good preouts to compliment 4 ported RE8s and a full set of Type S speakers. I was looking at the Panasonics for around $300, and they seem real nice with a good looking display and 5v preouts, is there anything bad about them? Any better ones for the price?

yea either kenwood excelon or a pioneer. You can get a brand new dehp760 for like 250-275 brand new on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/Pioneer-DEHP760-Premier-XM-Ready-CD-Mp3-WMA-Receiver_W0QQitemZ5817163862QQcategoryZ39752QQrdZ1 QQcmdZViewItem

I'm looking mainly at the Panasonic CQ-C9701U. It's around $335 shipped, but since it's something I really like, I'm willing to go over my limit. Is there something that is absolutely better then this, or are there problems with these?

Pioneer DEH-P860MP? Has great features (13 band parametric eq is what i like, and why i may buy one), has nice 6.5 volt preout voltage (x3), and is probably "flashy" enough for your liking. I'm not sure about the mp3 hookup though.

That looks nice, but is a little over what im wanting to spend (at least the places i've found it), and I dont see anything about inputs. Any other suggestions?

Yeah, thats my 860 and I also have the the CD-RB10 adapter which allows you to hook an mp3 player, laptop, dvd player, etc up to the 860. If you want the adapter I will sell it for $15.

ummmm.... alpine? They have improved their looks but they still win in the sound quality category for that price range. They run off of ai-net connection, you can pick up the ai to rca adapter for twenty dollar at numerous locations.

CDA modles have a 5 band parametric EQ, or you can choose a 7 band graphic eq

the parametric is better, allows you to adjust the slope

Except for the 9847... CDA basically just states that it is an AiNet reciever rather then an M-Bus (CDM) or E-Bus (CDE).

You could do a Clarion DXZ655MP with a two year warranty, line in auxillary, 712 color display, motorized detachable face, 3 sets of 4v preamp outs, (only a 3 band eq though) for 300$ at a dealer, or a Sony CDX-F7715x with Burr Brown D/A's, line in aux, dot matrix display, 2 year warranty, 3 sets of 4v preamp outs, and a 5 band EQ for 280$ at a dealer as well. If you're interested PM me

Not really interested in the Clarion, Kenwood, or Sony reccomended.

Maybe I'm just picky :crying:

I do like the Pioneer Premier 8MP though. :yumyum:

i think you should go for the panasonic CQ-C9800U. it goes for less then 300 on ebay. it is 60x4 rms but actually it's benchtested at 26 wattrms. more then a lot of the other decks. 3 5v preouts , animated screensavers, sq9 , super bass control , and it looks tight. I have the 5310u and as soon as i installed it, i noticed the difference immediately in sound quality and how loud it got. go panasonic
