I get mine from a boat supply place around here. by fiberglass you mean the actual glass mat or polyester resin? If you mean mat I use standard chopped mat under 6oz (I am using 1oz ATM but might get 3oz next)

us composites is good. I get mine from Fiberglass Hawaii, as it is just down the road from here. They have really good prices. I use mostly fabric rather then chop mat. However I do use alot of chop mat. it seems to cling better when you are making your initial shell. Like what you are talking about when making enclosures for the corners of trunks or spare tire wells. THe fabric is much much stronger.

I usually get it locally. What kind / weight really depends on what I intend on using it for. General purpose stuff ( kick panels, consoles, yada yada ) I usually use 3-5 oz chopped strand mat. Sub enlcosures or high stress projects ( still fix jet ski hulls for local shop ) 17 oz. kyntex biaxial all the way baby. It costs, but two layers is almost bullet proof :)
