Upcoming enclosure will be housing (3) GTO804. Do you all think I should invert the middle one? I think it'd look cool :).

If so, whats best way to get the wire through the box to the terminals on the sub itself? Like drill a lil hole and pull it through or what? Im at school so I can get the 3D drawing of the enclosure when I get home.

personally, I don't think it would look good that way. Maybe if the three subs were all angled at slightly different directions... that would look nice.

Well I am not one to ask. My take on inverting is this. I don't walk around with my *** hanging out and neither should subs :P

IOW I don't like the look of inverting.

Not yet...in process of building..port is glued together, bottom has back and front pieces....gonna use drimell (spelling is wrong) to smooth out cutouts for the subs tomorrow and cut angles on front face where subs are...then hopefully glue all together fri

i'll get pics asap i dont have a digital camera tho so yeah

how did you make the 3-d drawing

I would either inver all three or maybe the two outer ones. To wire them, use thick that fits through the mounting holes on the rings and run each lead through a hole.

most likely autodesk inventor. least it looks like it.

and as far as the inverting, as long as the sub is mounted with somthing other than drywall screws, i say go for it... just mount the two outside subs, drill a hole on each side (where the VC's are) and caulk it from the INSIDE.

:)

Inventor 10 is nice..have it at school. Tried to steal it but it's located on the server like 10miles from my school. :crying:

I say invert it... That drawing really is nice, did you use a program to design the box or make you own design?

The red circles are where the wires will come through to go to the VC of the inverted one. (Just an idea)

Go for it.

Use those Parts Express nickel-or-gold plated binding posts, so the attachment outside the box looks clean.

Can you host the image cuz Im at school and partsxpress is blocked. Thanks.

Also....found this from req...

remove the gasket, and flip it around.

use Tnuts on the inside of the box - and insert them through pre-drilled holes. they look like this

http://www.fu-yeh.com.tw/images/t-mut-s.jpg

then just get a matching bolt that fits the thread on the Tnut, and put a drop of nailpolish on the bolt as you put it in (so when the nailpolish dries, it acts as a weak glue so the bolts dont shake loose)

quite simple really :)

Do I need to "flip the gasket" and if so how the hell do I do that?

those terminal will make a clean install.

i say go for it, it will look good, it'll increase the internal volume of the box slightly increasing the freq response a hair.

Yeah they would. I have to see what kind of money I'm dealing with after work tonight and places local cuz subs come in Tuesday so hopefully gonna be putting them in on Tuesday. Still need to angle two parts and then glue face on, run wire, carpet, and install.

i may be a noob for asking but what is inverting the sub and what does it do? I'm guessing it means you flip it around and have the magnet stick out with the cone inside of the box. If i'm right in my thinking a sub usually pulls the air inside of the box when it hits because the woofer moves out. So wouldnt inverting mess up the air flow with the other 3 subs? Please dont flame me to badly i'm only curious.

yes, it means to flip the sub around, and no it wont mess the air around "cause cancellation" b/c he will also be swapping the sub wires "- for +" and "+ for -" so that all the sub will be moving to the same direction.

You may not, but there are plenty of females that should walk with their asses hanging out - think of it like that.

And it all depends on the sub, much like the female, that we're talking about at the time :D

Thanks. That's tight. I really hate audiobahn subs but it would look way cool if you did it with thos. Of course, it'd still be audiobahn.

im gonna see how it is inverted on Tuesday (they arrive tuesday)
