I was worried that the box I was about to build wouldn't fit into my trunk, so I made a prototype, in a way, out of cardboard and duck tape. I cut out the peices to the outside dimentions of the box plans and taped them together. The pics:

all finished, it's huge!:

it doesn't fit :( :

So the box doesn't fit, I guess I'll have to figure something out. At least my idea worked and saved me lots of time and wood.

it wont fit lemans look at it. even if his rear seats go down it still wont fit, the front and back will hit the seats, that thing is huge

Yeah, there's no way it's fitting. Even if I could take out the seats, the wheel wells would be in the way.

You know who to call for that...

Seriously, what about F/G? A 'glassed enclosure would allow you to get the most out of the available airspace...

i think glass is going to be your friend here, either that or just go with a wall :D, i think glass or in trunk build is your only options oh and btw its duct tape :)

oh i thought he was complaining cause he couldn't force it in the front. well then, make it flatter i guess. or, just change the design in the first place. always works for me :)

will u guys ever let me live that down :(?

no, you are the master of caulk.

That duct tape and cardboard idea was quite good... saved you a lot of time. I had a problem similar to that trying to fit a L5 15 in a slot ported box into the trunk of my friends 2001 volvo S40

****, i shoulda done that b4 i made my box, i was so sure i got the dimensions right that it would go in and it didnt :crap: , so i had to pull my backseat out(not fold down), rip the support bar out, put the sub in, then weld the support bar back on, lol.

i love how people use hex screws and square...thieves are going to carry these if they actually plan to steal anything...or else they are just stupid...

I like to put an electric field with 50,000 volts around the entire sub...:)

Or if you aren't that nuts, security screws work well.

I hate caulk. Whenever I'm around it my hands get all sticky. Stupid caulk.

Yes I measured, but only the max dimensions of the inside and not the opening of the trunk.

I might just have to go sealed. Is it really a crime to seal a 15" SX?

From what I have been told, yes it is a crime. You cant even fit in 3 net cubes in that big *** trunk of yours?

Insomniac119
09-13-2005, 07:45 PM
Of coarse I can. I was going for 4cuft with a port 14.125" high and 8.25" wide and 67.75" long. Too big? I hope so.

How big was the box you had it in?

Trancer
09-13-2005, 07:46 PM
28W X 16.5T X 28D I believe
