I have been looking and looking for a new HU. I really can't deside.

I want the best buy for the money. GOOD sound quality. The looks I like from all these HU's.

Clarion DZX955MC
Clarion DZX855MP
Clarion DZX845MP
Clarion DZX835MP

Can you help me with maybe som ups'n'downs with these or maybe even tell me about some other HU's?

Hope you guys can help me to make my choice easier! ;)

9835 is also the most expensive HU of them.

I know that the CD signal to noise is the best of them .. what do I get more to that HU that's going to make it the money worth?

I want the best buy for the money I could live with all of them.

Thank you all for helping :)

The 9835's user interface is what makes it so good, at least in my eyes...it has a steep learning curve, but once you know your way around it there's no going back to anything else.

It would be the only head unit I'd see myself upgrading to, at least currently...

Okay, it also sounds to be a very very nice HU.

What about the 9855? Is that a newer/older or better/worse HU?

cuz it's a bit cheaper.

its newer but not as good plus that gay little glide touch strip is a serious mistake on alpines part

I could live with having a gay HU if it's good and it's a better buy.

What's making it not as good?

The Clarion 955 gets my vote.

well the glide strip doesn't always work for one. you put the choices up there man--all we did was pick which one was best in our opinion.

imo, the alpine without the glide strip

I've never used any of the HU's mentioned but my last 3 HU's have all been Clarion and I've loved every single one.

Man you gotta compare the features on each deck and prices for yourself. What may be important to any of us may not matter at all to you. And what may matter the most to you may not matter at all to any or all of us. That is the only way to get the deck that is best for you.

the pioneer 960 or alpine 9835

prove me wrong then, its just my opinion.

prove me wrong then, its just my opinion.

OH ok, its just your opinion. Well you never said it was your opinion in your earlier post. You stated it like it was fact so I assumed you must have some proof as to why it was GREATER THAN all the other decks that were listed. I'm glad you like your deck man but there is always a better head unit. As far as proving you wrong is concerned, I wouldn't have to go very far to find a better deck than the 9835. I do agree its better than the newer Alpine decks but it is inferior to the 955 in many ways.....line voltage just to name one.

My brother picked up a 9855 from Best Buy(he works there, nice discount). The glide touch is very annoying trying to surf through the sound shaping menu- i found at many times as I glided my finger across it did not respond- you have to do it perfectly. Also you CANNOT lower your volume once you are in the tuning menu's, rendering your main rotary knob useless once you are in the sound shaping menu- very stupid IMO because its becomes harder to tune real time unless you have the perfect volume level set- which doesnt exist because when you cut/boost a band on the PEQ you want to see how it affects the range of volume/voltage levels.

Unfortunately his branch did not sell any higher line clarions nor anything better than a Pio P-80mp otherwise I would've steered'm in another direction.
If you have access to that 9835 (which is rare), snag it- or spend sometime playing with the 9855 to see if that novelty is for you. Those higher Clarions look real good though..
