for a new subwoofer (asking here instead of ht forum because it is just a general question) for home, would you take:

12" rlp
12" se
2 12" atlasses

all are priced around 200 dollars for the deals that i'm looking at, se is around 160 ish. what do u think? i'm leaning towards the rlp since i can't imagine the se having enough output for me in a home setup and i have no need for 2 atlasses in the first place. rlp just looks sexxy too.

Ummm why are you asking if you a hard-on for a the rlp? Buy it and don't look for internet geeks approvals, ***.

Would this be for audio only, or full theater duty?

lets say full audio, as i MAY use it in the family home theater later if my dad doesnt want to buy anything else (i just bought him some dayton classic 12" cones for his old jbls, they sound incredible again). i really don't like the idea of making great audio fronts then slapping them down beside a tv and have them make soundfx instead of norah jones.

I realize this is the Lounge, but you two should try acting better than a bunch of hormonal 13 year olds. It just looks better...:)

So why is that a choice?
because i'm getting both for that price ;) actually, i may use both eventually but i would have them in seperate enclosures. i have no need for both, but if he wants to gimme them for that price, why the hell not take 'em? better thread choice would be just single atlas. i'll probably wind up selling it, but let's just say for now that i will be using both

I'd go with the Atlas's only if I was gonna use both. If not...then the rl-p.

I said there were better drivers than the SX's. AA Atlases are excellent drivers for home use, provided you go with a lower-Q sealed enclosure or a very low tuned bass reflex.

jim, i would never use anything but <25 hz boxes :)
