the kick trim is missing, you can see the wires. the floor is dirty, and the door still has tape residue on it.

other than those details, it sounds amazing. its wrapped in tan microsuede, and it actually matches the color of the interior in person... kinda strange on camrea.

thats all. have a nice day.

oh yea. you can see the image dynamics CD2 HLCD's i got under the dash. for now, only the right side is completed.

//edit

thanks to audiolife for the horns and alot of questions he awnsered, jazn for the mids, ebay for the crossover\eq (crossfire CFX3.24 & CFQ31M), ikesound for the amp (viper550.6) squeak for random help, and any others, you know who you are.

masonite a demel tool a jig saw and covering material would do it. just use the dremel to shap up the part going up against the bottom of the dash if is not 100% straight

shhhh

i might end up with a PAIR of IDQ15's

;)

the RLS was just out of my price range as it turns out :(

and yea dbfan, the kodas were just too freggin huge. the diamater of the baffle was getting to be like 10~11" and that was insane. not to mention the 4"+ depth. so i had to go a smaller route. i cant wait to get the other CX62 in on the other side, and listen to this in stereo! ;)

i also got new camrea batteries and i cleaned up the mess in the car. ill take another shot to make it look a little better later

so those ID's sound pretty good? mine used to make a horrible poping noise. maybe they were just a defective pair. i might have to give ID another try.

they sounded good to me, but i guess i havnt got them loud enough for that? i havnt got the RTA on it yet, nor have i got it very loud. i do know the horn 'bottoms out' when i get it up loud at too low of a crossover point (round 800hz iirc)

mine started poping at like half volume and were crossed over at 100 hz. i think it was a defect though.

thanks for the tip. mine are crossed at 45hz with a 24db per octave slope. so they are playing quite low right now. im happy with them. ill email ID if i start having any problems.

thats cuz they lack a dustcap, so dust gets in there and causes vc rubbing and other bad things to happen. thats what happened to the first pair of ID mids i bought, so i was gonna send em in but i dropped them while packing them up (=user error). ended up buying another set, worked perfectly for the couple months i had em and now req has em. i heard u can clean em with a business card or something like that if u have the popping problem.

since they dont have a dustcap, occasionally dust gets into here:

although it's rare (some people here have had the problem), when it does happen it makes a loud popping noise at high volumes. u can usually fix the problem by cleaning it out with compressed air or a business card.

i know the compressed air thing, but how the hell does a credit card help?

a paper business card. u bend it to fit in the circle and it scrapes up dust that's stuck on the bottom.

thats what my sister told me, but i think it would be extremly hard to get it to look right. and if the door got wet, it might spell the end of the good looking suede.

i cant wait for the wintertime with these pods :uhoh:
