Source Level Adjustment (SLA): This function lets you adjust the volume level of each source to prevent radical changes in volume when switching between sources. Settings are based on the volume level of the FM tuner, which remains unchanged. Each source can be independently adjusted from -4 dB to +4 dB.

sometimes some people's radio is a lot quieter than their cd's, so u use the sla to level match.

o so if a song on a Cd is a really quiet you just turn the SLA up and the song gets louder?

it's mainly for switching back and forth between the radio and cd player. if songs on the same cd have different volumes, just use the volume knob.
