Alright guys after all the testing i've done, i've narrowed it down to the HU. It seems as if my HU's pre-outs are shot. I needed a new HU anyway. Recommend me a excellent SQ HU that can play mp3's, and has atleast 4v pre-outs (don't have to be, but would be nice). As for price no more then $350 shipped.

Once again thanks

You might be able to catch an Alpine 7998 for that, there's 3 on ebay ending this week.

the premier generally has higher preout voltage, and in the case of the 860 has a 3-way crossover and paramteric eq.

u sure it's parametric? i always thought it was a 13 band graphic eq.

as much of an eclipse as you can afford. My suggestion would be an eclipse cd5435($349, authorized). If you can find an 8454 from last year, you might get a great deal on that as well.

Also, many people on some other forums are raving about the sq and value of the upper kenwood excelon models.

Considering your newbiness, do a search on 'pioneer, problems' on this and other caraudio forums and see how many times the Pio models recommended on this thread pop up . You may want to see what the newer Pio models coming soon have to offer.

In that budget, look for something with some 24bit dac's...

Check your local Eclipse shops...they may still have CD8454's at a killer bargain
