I am in the process of building a fiberglass box for my dodge ram. I have completed the fiberglass and the box is almost finished. I have one slight problem. I am installing 2 audiobahn 12" compression piston subs dual voice coil. They take 1200 watts RMS each so I have 2 amps putting out 1200 watts RMS each. My first question is what gauge wire will I need to run for each sub. Also what gauge wire will I need to run from the battery to the amp. I will have to run the battery to amp wire about 10 feet. The amp to sub wires will run about 5 feet. I was told 1/0 was necessary. I have also heard suggestions on a 1.5 farad stiffening capacitor for each amp and getting a bigger alternator. I could really use some help on this. This will cost me a small fortune.

don't get A$$-raped on wire. www.knukonceptz.com or www.weldingsupply.com for heavy stuff.

x2 on the alt and no on the caps.

NOT to be directing you away from here, we are here to help and offer opinions, but there's a lot of good reading at www.bcae1.com to answer your questions also.

welcome to the board...
