Is one better than the other? I heard that the epoxy sticks better to mdf, is this true?
Is a resin, a resin, a resin, can I just buy the cheapo polyester resin from Harbor Freight and be fine? Then go over with the Rage body filler before paint? Thanks!

yes, use polyester. cheaper. No point in using epoxy resin for box building.

Bodyfill is a different story. If you're using body filler for strength (1 or even 0 layers of fiberglass) you will want a reinforced fiberglass like tigerhair or kittyhair.

I will be using body filler for smoothness and paint purposes, however, I will still put down about 7 layers just to make sure it is strong. Thanks for the replies! I went to Lowes over the weekend and picked up a gallon of the Bondo resin they sell there along with an extra tube of hardener and 9 sq. ft. of chop mat to get started. I have no idea how much fibergass I will need but figured that would be enough just to get me started.
