What is the box going into, not what is going into the box... (What car does he drive, get it now?) :eyebrow:

if thats the external dimensions, then that box is nowhere near 4 cubes... its 3.98 before sub and port displacements. after that huge port and the subs displacements id guess its more like 2.5-3 cubes.

Mr. Opportunist
07-10-2005, 02:06 AM
yea its somewhere around 3 after port and displacement i meant 4 overal sorry.

well got it installed this morning kept it at low volumes just to check for any gaps/leaks and i did find one i was thinking about running a bead of caulk(sp?) around the inner edges would that be ok to do? no pics yet it was to hot outside and i forgot my phone in the house.

mine too, and it sets off alarms nice with only a 10" sub in it ;)

Might have Moe design my next non fiberglass box for me. Might be getting a 12" RE HC for a competition SPL setup.

My 2 12" Memphis Prs will be glassed for streetbass setup. (aeroports in glass ;))

box is looking good.

get 100% silicone caulk expands with the wood seals perfect.

ok thanks ill go pick some up in about an hour, how long does it take to dry 2 or 3 hours or should i let it sit overnight?

silicone caulk? Mine was dry in 45 minutes or so. remember to use your fingers to spread it smooth. you dont want a rope bead on the inside of the box you want to to make a smooth connection between the side and top ot bottom.

id say definitly go ported because these are incredible, before i wanted to sell them to get a set of xxx's but now i want to keep them, i currently cant turn my headunit up past 11 because my box starts to bounce when they hit, whats a good way to secure it so i can turn it up?

Meh!
