I dont want it to be ALL SQ thats the thing, i want to have SOME SQ while having a lil more spl, hence the 35hz tunning... i might do 4.5cuft tuned to 35hz or i might just be getting an 18, single sub setup with an 18 would get peoples heads turning... hows your 18 doing?

my xxx15 is in a 4cu.ft. box tuned to 30Hz right now and sounds ****** great...i should be receiving my snail shell sometime in the next week. ill let you all know and maybe get some pics up..it should sound a lot louder/better than the box i have now, but yeah great effing sub...hits the lows well and gets stupid loud.

I had the exact same setup. I can't imagine anyone needing anything louder for daily driving.

How is that for an XXX18 7.5cuft NET @ 35Hz... can some one go over the calculations to make sure everything is good to go since this is my 1st box ever made and i really really **** at math, i can barely use a calculator aside from the positive, negative and division.

The port is suffocating. I just ran the calc, and it needs like 172 sq in of port area, Im not even gonna run the length....it will be scury

And 18.5" on the baffle may be a little too tight. I would go with 19 at minimum from the looks of mine (old claw basket)....and a double baffle (1.5")

How about the following....
-Box Dimensions
18.5Hx40Wx24.74D
-Port
17.5Hx5Wx21L
This gives me a tunning of 34.72Hz with 7.5cuft NET and 8.8 gross, what do you guys get?

Go with either 4.5 cu ft (after displacement) box tuned to 32Hz
or
snailshell. ;) :) ;)

Yeah, im going for an 18 now.. i though that if i had the money the power and the space then i might as well get the 18. I will be doing 7.5 after displacement tuned to 35hz with 120in^2 of port area

^ why not make the port a little longer for a 30Hz or 32Hz tuning? ;)
