Alpine CDA-9853 Got Stuck!

Well, I just wanted to say that finally after stating that my deck was flawless, the buttons got stuck! :(

Anyway, I went to Tweeter, they knew about all the problems and is letting Alpine deal with the repairs. So, I got a NIB 2nd batch (units built after flaw was found and fixed) CDA-9855! :)

I will install probably tonight or Monday morning and I will have new pics shortly. :)

BTW, the Tweeter guy said that Alpine's new '05's that had the tilt and stuck flaw was due to a software error...

ok this is my message to anyone willing to afford a 2005 Alpine... give up on they... get the 2003 or the 2004 line... EVERYONE's been complaining about 2005 alpine head units issues...

plus they have remodelled it to offer the best bang for your money... so get an older one for better SQ

My 9853's not had any problems for the couple months I've had it, and is a great HU thus far.

But I'm still anticipating some kind of defect or flaw, just based on the amount of bad reviews.

^ true. However, the new batches have NO issues. ;)

Granted, the new GlideTouch feature takes getting use to but some don't like it. Personally, it's okay to me but I kinda like the style from 2004. Other than that, the deck is great. Besides, I am used to the GlideTouch now because of the CDA-9853. Now, I probably will just have to get familiar with the new menu layout on the CDA-9855.
