Ok im not sure on any of this but what is the diference in sound if u instal subs in side a box rather then mounting them magnet out? is it done just for looks and has lose of spl, or does it work just the same. Also does this work in a ported box!

pretty common question..

It's done for looks. Lots of woofers look pretty cool when they're inverted. It works in a ported box too.

so i wont loose SPL?

The sub is still doing the exact same thing. Its only done for space or look purposes.

you have to reverse the +s and -s though. also, motor noise can also be an issue at times.

you have to reverse the +s and -s though.

Only if you have one regular and one inverted - you need to reverse the polarity on the inverted one. If you have just one, it doesn't matter.

I asked "DB Don" (creator of Beyond Audio) the same question once and he told me that there was a neglible loss of DB when mounting inverted, something like .5 DB, no change in SQ though.

You won't hear .5 decibels it's hard to notice that with test tones, let alone music.

You never know with cjjackson85, he knows some pretty obscure stuff.
