I was wondering which hu is better 9855 or 9835 and why? On Alpine's web site 9835 is priced higher then newer 9855 (maybe the prices weren't updated). What does 9835 have that 9855 doesn't? And my finall question is what's better SQ wise Pioneer P8600MP (P860MP) or Alpine's 9835 (9855). Thank you :uhoh:

I just went through 2 9855s and they both decided to die on me. I returned it and I am now looking for a 9835. My suggestion, screw the 9855 and go with the 9835. SQ won't matter if the dam thing doesn't even work :)

Since the 9855 is, by all accounts, junk, get the 9835.

The prices went down for the new models because they got rid of the v-drive internal amp. Not that many people really used it so they got rid of it. I used mine for awhile and it was pretty nice

No way of telling you a straight answer to that question. They both have their ups and downs. I myself have a 860 and have had NO dependability issues with it what so ever and the SQ is more than adequate. As far as the 9835 is concerned, I've never heard one or operated one so I couldn't tell you. If you can try both I would recommend that but if you can't do some more asking around.
