only thing about rainbow speakers is the only line that they have that doesnt put a euro-footprint into the music is the silver ones they put on the front of the box. they sound good to alot of different music but still sound german lol. trick to getting a system sounding awesome is first getting it to a high and dry no sound signature refference point. then mold sound to taste. good speakers though

What does it say on the dustcaps? "Bass Power"?

bamaboy
06-06-2005, 07:28 PM
bass driver is what is says on the front, and i dont really care because i was looking at some polk comps for 130 +shipping, and these were cheaper and im sure they will sound a whole lot better than my Infinity shallow mounts, because those have no mid bass

amedeuce
06-06-2005, 09:07 PM
I have the same model soundlines as those. That model is like 4-5 years old according to rainbow. I emailed them cause I thought I was getting something else like the newest model.

amedeuce
06-06-2005, 09:11 PM
Edit, I didnt get mine directly from rainbow, I got them from a shop in Texas that shipped them to me. I assumed they were shipping me the newest models, and come to find out that that particular shop is not an authorized dealer even though they said that they were. Rainbow informed me that were not. Rainbow and the alumapro rep (alumapro is now the main distrubuter/dealer of rainbow products in the us) told me as far as sound goes you wouldnt be able to tell the differance. Although the new models are rated at 150 rms I believe and those like mine are 60-80

Raven
06-06-2005, 09:24 PM
Basically, yeah. The new ones could get louder, but if you need louder than 60/80 watts at an SLC's efficiency, you've got big problems. =p

bamaboy
06-06-2005, 10:58 PM
i got them in and they sound great, havnt listened to much only like 3 songs on them, they are only on my premier 860 for now, but am planning to get a 70rms amp in a couple weeks, but it took me longer than expected to install because i was going slow, but everything is in and it looks great, im prolly gonna get flamed for this or something but i put the tweet up kinda high in the door, but it sounds ok to me, i was the easiest place to put them at, and i used the cups and pointed kinda at your ears, instead of cutting a hole in the door

Schuey2002

Did you use any fork or spade terminals to attach the speaker wires to the crossovers, or did you just attach them to the little philips head screws?

ya, im going to remove th tweets out of the dash though because those are real harsh and i dont really need them, then im going to put the infinity ones in the back maybe, but im happy for now until i try to buy something else new for my vehicle, because everytime i buy something, i have to fix 5 things, like when i got the PA amp which caused many probs, and other things but everything is fine for now until i get a 2 ch amp, but the rainbows were easy to do will get pics up tomorrow for them they are so much not harsh than the infinities and much cleaner and what not, but cant wait until get an amp :)

do i not need to? arc audio is probably peeing their pants at the moment at how many they've sold and not even telling many people, its a chain letter :o "you must buy some or your cousins mother's hair dresser's cat will get a bad case of diahrrea ":yumyum: :crying:

You saw this little guy here ( :D ), right?

There are people on this forum who are mean. Or are a-holes. Or who can't type two words online without cussing someone out, and I am not one of them. I was merely pointing out the obvious. ;)

here is that amp, on high pass it says 150-15000, so does that mean i cant let sound below 150 into the speakers, becaused i wanted to cross them at 80 or 100

A) Use a HU with a built in crossover,
B) Use an external crossover (such as a Coustic, for example),
C) Use a subsonic filter (like a F-Mod),
D) Find another amp.

:D

bamaboy
06-07-2005, 08:16 PM
A) my headuit has built in crossover
B) cost extra that i dont have
C) why do i need one for these, i thought tha was for sub?
D) this is all i need, just plain 70x2rms

Schuey2002
06-07-2005, 08:42 PM
"C) why do i need one for these, i thought tha was for sub?"

As an option, you could run a full range signal, and then have a highpass F-Mod chop off the frequencies that you didn't want going to your Sound Lines. The 70hz or 100hz High Pass models would be the closest to what you'd need. ;)
