Can anyone tell me the over all size of the XXX6.5 mid. All I can find is 3-3/8 mounting depth. Need to know, overall dia, cutout size dia, magnet size, etc.

So close to getting some I can taste it.

Thanks

I'd like to know this as well... I know exactly what everyone will say though and what you should do...

I don't know exact sizes, but they are bigger in every single dimension than the CDT EF-61's that we designed NGSM13's doorpods for.

Motor structures (with magnet) are AT LEAST 5" in diameter...

you need every bit of the mounting depth

and the mounting cutout is the same as all 6.5" drivers. however like said the magnet is a good 5"+ in diameter.

negative, they do not have the same cutout as a 6.5" driver. They are actually alot bigger than that. They are more of a 7" driver, Like a Euro size speaker. 176.9mm to be exact. I think I did a 6" cutout and it fit in nicely where normally 6.5" (160mm) speakers have a 5.5-5.75" cutout. But it is true about the mounting depth of them, they need lots of that. I did not have that much of a problem once I got ahold of some fiberglass and bondoglass.

that is a nice picture...

I believe the actual diameter of the xxx6.5 is 6 3/4, it is very close to the 7" that is normally said. it had about a 4-41/2 magnet, I think the 5" size is a little much(but I could be wrong).

I knew you guys would come through. I've been having the worst time trying to get hooked up in Canada. RE wont sell direct. The distributor (if you can call him that) has taken 4 days and a weekend and he still hasn't given me prices with repeated reminders. I think he's selling them out of his garage or something with no price book. And yes, he is the official distributor according to RE.

Just had to vent. Tomorrow, I'm calling RE back and complaining.

Thanks for the driver sizes NewT
