How hard I wouldn't want to get 6.5's components for the front I just don't have the room, I would have to sacrafice my hood release and foot-rest pedal if i were to put them in. Have to stick with 4" or 4X6 in my kick panels. I also have predrilled holes in doors for tweeters to sweeten the deal. But what should I expect from 4" speakers (cdt's cl series is my weapon of choice for right now) I have my lows from 2 10" in the back back (I think sealed box is tuned to 48hz) but will I have enough mids. Or will I end up regrating for switching from my stock speakers. The heziatation is terring me apart.
Thanks in advance.

its 4x6 but its like round with edges on the side (not oval) so its basically 4" in 4x6 shell (i don't know why old bmw have that)

youre gonna majorly lack midbass. i also doubt your box is tuned to 48hz, cuz that wouldnt sound very nice. and a sealed box cant be tuned to something, youre getting your terms messed up or something.

First of all, what kind of car do you have.?? Have you taken the door skin off and looked at it closely???
My 97 Grand Am had 4x6 stock speakers too. But when I took the door skin off I realized that GM had some stupid little housing in which the 4x6 was screwed down to. I just took the whole housing out of the door and made some mdf templates of the same dimensions of the housings and cut a hole in them big enough for my 6 1/2" midbass. :) :)

Well I mean the box is not tuned but in the manual sais that if I make it that volume it will have 48hz. Anyway I have old bmw (1986 635csi) which is two door coup and I would have to too much work on my doors to make 6.5's fit (I saw people do it on internet) How about I put them in the back or midle how is that?

what sort of 10's are those?
anyways, i think putting comps in the back or middle will sound funny. cars where the back is the location of the sound stage always sounded weird to me.
