What would be the best bang for the buck comp. speaker I should go with a JVC Arsenal KD-AR5500 reciever in a 95 Mustang with the Mach 460 unit? (I got it dirt cheap)

Now I've been lurking and it seems like Boston Acoustic and Rainbow are the majority of speakers you guys are running.

I'm looking for the best speakers possible without spending TOO MUCH money. I can maybe push around 400-500, so what should I be looking at?

Thanks for any input, it's greatly appreciated

See if you can find anymore phoenix gold titanium elite 6.5 components. When they appear on ebay you can get them for about 350. They were made by morel isreal.

Heres a look at the 5.25 elites. Im sure you could fine the 6.5s easily.

I wouldnt spend much on speakers with the stock amps. If you were to get a good amp then spend more.

Dynaudio 240/50/60 mkII
DLS UR6/Iridium
Boston Pro/Z6
CDT
Morel
Rainbow
Alpine F1
Diamond D6/M6/Hex

....and All will need a good amp to reach their capabilities.

Thanks all for the quick replies, I appreciate it.

Now if I were to get one of component speakers you guys mentioned, what would be the best amp to get in order for the speakers to reach their full potential?

Also, one last thing. What speakers should I get in the back? I heard around that they are just fill in sound and don't really matter much. That true?

Thanks all!

x2

I'm pretty sure the Mach460 run at a very low ohm output.. like 1 or even below. If you get 2 or 4 ohm speakers, you won't get much power out of them. But I could be mistaken about the impedence of the amps.

And does anyone know where I can get a good deal on some high-end speakers besides ebay?

I was told that the mach mids run mono in the doors and the tweets are in stereo. the mids run off the amp and the tweets run off the head unit. I dont know if thats true. The for sale threads have some good deals. As far as amps just get a quality amp that will make at least or more power then the rating of the speakers.

Rating of speakers? Is that the max. watts of them?

I'm sorry for these dumb questions, I'm not that familiar with audio but I'm trying to learn as much as I can.

dont even go by the max wattage rating. always go by the RMS.

as for deals, either classifieds here or other forums, ebay, or you have to know people.
