it's a good unit, but probably get the cq-c7401u instead for a few bucks more
5v preouts versus 2.5v and 2 yr warranty

was guna say that, but you beat me to it.
i seen the 7401 on ebay for 170$. its a great deal for all the features.
any1 know the difference between the cq-c8300 and the 7401? i couldnt find any significant difference, yet the 8300 is like 20$ more.

models xx00 are 2004 models, that 8300 been replaced by the 8301 and probably has the same features as the 7401
might as well go with the 7401 for the money, or if you can spend ~$30 more get the 8401 the xovers on the 8401 are adjustable, the 7401 got some preset xover points

didn't know off the top of my head, but i looked it up
7401:
HPF Off/90/135/180/225Hz
LPF 80/120/160Hz
8401:
HPF 90-225Hz; Adjustable in 5Hz steps
LPF 60-160Hz; Adjustable in 5Hz steps
other than the xover the only other difference i see in the decks is the hu power 60x4 (8401), 50x4 (7401) ...which is insignificant i think the adjustable option is worth the extra $25-30 , you can just run your amps full range and adjust freq's from the headunit :)
