I have an MDF frame (small) that I need to strengthen. Can I add a layer of fiberglass resin to the MDF to strengthen it?

no, it'll stop leaks...thats about it...the resin itself is not strong..

heck if you already have the resin thatsd the expensive part, just go get some mat and glass it on and it will be stronger.

it would be better if you used a good amount of wood glue on the seams, and did some more bracing.

glassing a frame is a waste of time, effort, and money.
