is this amp ok for my components?

hey i have a set of infinity perfect 6.1 comps and im thinking of upgrading its amp to a MTX THUNDER 942 because i have a hifonics nx600 powering them right now and think that upgrading to a little better amp might improve the components' performance a little. also because i want it to match my mtx 1501d that is powering my idMAX. my question is: if i watch the gains AND VOLUME properly the components shouldn't "blow" right?

I don't think it's worth it to get that and be setting your gains almost to minimum, which you'll have to if you don't want to blow those nice comps.
Go with something smaller from which you can take full advantage off and btw save your electrical system, 'cause those things are reaaall current guzzlers just like the 1501D.
