yes it is always good for an amp to be over rated. The amp is said to be 360 x 1 @ 4 ohms. Your getting 584. Now this amp will get HOT and I mean HOT, well actually all Fosgates that I have seen and used get HOT, keep it in a well vented area and dont enclose it, or cover it. Good luck

Matt's right. Rockford amps can burn your skin when they're hot. 584 watts is really good. My 360 was born with 490 watts. I'm guessing that you may have the punch power.
